The Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort in Marathon Key, Fla., features two and one half acres of beautifully landscaped grounds right on the Gulf of Mexico. Guests can enjoy sunset drinks at the beachfront Tiki bar, relax in the gorgeous lagoon style pool, work out in the fitness center, sunbathe on the two and a half acres of private beach or rent a watercraft. Canoeing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, fishing and bicycle rentals are all available, too.
Guests with an interest in wild life conservation may choose to visit the Dolphin Research Center and Turtle Hospital, just one block from the property. The Butterfly Caf� offers indoor and outdoor dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The seasonal menu features tropical cuisine with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients.
This resort's accommodations are two and three bedroom homes along a quarter mile of seashore. Each house contains two large patios overlooking the lagoon pool or sea, fully equipped kitchens, washer/dryer units, and separate living and dining areas. The 42 inch Plasma screen and 27 inch flat screen televisions feature premium cable channels and DVD players. High speed wired and wireless Internet access is complimentary, and voicemail is also available.
